The Development History of NTN Antriebstechnik GmbH
The foundation for today’s NTN Antriebstechnik GmbH was laid in 2001: At that time, the company founder successfully negotiated with Volkswagen AG for the production of drive shafts of joint size 107. Just a few months later, in January 2002, construction began on our production site in Gardelegen (Saxony-Anhalt).
By September of the same year, serial production of components for drive shafts commenced. A first milestone followed in early 2004: The millionth fixed joint rolled off the line – a significant moment in the history of our then young company.
In 2005, we expanded our production capacities to meet growing demand. From the beginning, we have relied on innovative manufacturing technologies that enable a fully automated and highly efficient production process – a standard that continues to shape our actions today.
A key step in our company’s development was the strategic partnership with NTN Corporation, initiated by IFA in 2006. When NTN increased its share from 25% to 75% in April 2012, the company was renamed NTN Antriebstechnik GmbH.
